Makers and Made - a journal of Japanese Creativity, volume 1

By artist and scholar Georgia Dorey. This publication is an interdisciplinary study achieved through open, involved and direct engagement with archives, communities, collectors, makers and specialists. Each volume brings together those whose work, through a deep admiration for the broad spectrum of creative traditions from Japan, celebrates and deepens our understanding of Japanese art, craft, culture and design in the USA. The journal takes the form of a series of short essays, case studies, observations and interviews, with original artwork by Georgia Dorey created in response to each focus. 'Makers and Made' aims to reflect Japan's more holistic approach to creative endeavour by inviting the reader on a pilgrimage to observe similarities, celebrate differences, and create dialogues between the makers and the made in America.

Please, enjoy.
