Botanical Printing Workshop and Lunch Club ~ with In Praise of The Fold and Stewpote

  • Fulham, London United Kingdom (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

September is a bumper time for harvesting, with many crops reaching their peak. Join us at this very special event to celebrate and enjoy all of the beautiful and delicious produce that has been lovingly grown throughout the summer months passed.

During the event, you will design and print your own set of four linen napkins with In Praise of The Fold in the beautiful outdoor setting of the Stewpote allotment. Georgia Dorey will guide you through the process of using two different printing techniques; block printing and botanical relief printing. The combination of these two processes will allow you to experiment with creating simple borders and motifs while also capturing tiny details in the surface texture of seasonal plants. The possibilities are endless and you will get surprising and beautiful results.

The printing workshop will be followed by a sit down ‘plot-to-plate' lunch prepared by Emily Ashworth using freshly-picked produce grown on her allotment. A simple way to connect with the land and feel a sense of place. The lunch will be made up of vegetarian dishes with a focus on celebrating the season’s bounty.

You will finish with your own set of unique napkins to take away with you, as well as a happy tummy well-fed.

This event is suitable for both complete beginners and those with some printing experience. No drawing skills are necessary and all materials are provided. Please let us know if you have any allergies or dietary requirements before the event so that we can make sure to cater for you.

Full details of the location will be emailed to you upon booking onto the event.

* Please Note: The location of this event is subject to the day's weather conditions. We will endeavour to do our best to ensure that the event is held outdoors on the Stewpote allotment, however, if conditions are too wet/windy/miserable, we will pick our produce and then carry out the workshop and lunch at an indoor location close by.*
